Position Summary

Manage and develop the field sales staff in the Western USA and the efficient execution of tactical sales activities and promotions to ensure targeted revenue performance is achieved. Coach all field sales staff and ensure compliance with company objectives and policies.  Additionally, handles some Key Accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage the performance of District Sales Managers through regular feedback, coaching, motivation and support, promotion of teamwork, training, formal performance appraisals, enacting disciplinary processes etc. and working as appropriate to address staff needs and promote staff retention.  Coach and implement CEP (Consultative Engagement Process). Continuously motivate the sales team and inspire them to stay focused on company’s goals. Provide a yearly evaluation of the Sales Team concerning each team member’s overall sales performance.
  • Work to build and maintain effective strategic relationships with national account sales executives and managers.
  • Work with Executive Team to develop a Strategic Plan and budget during each plan year, and ensure this plan is properly executed to meet sales targets and remain within budget.  Set parameters to drive business, including commission structures, group concessions and trade show attendance, etc.
  • Assist in developing the District Sales Managers’ territories and ensuring that call patterns are efficient to retain current business as well as expand to develop more business. Ensure all requested sales reports are accurate, detailed, and submitted within the desired timeframe.  To ensure DSMs are utilizing Salesforce and other sales technologies.
  • Oversee individual sales targets for each DSM based on territory.   Provide training to DSM’s on systems and CEP sales techniques as necessary to ensure company goals are being met and customers are being properly serviced.  Ensure the Sales team provides Insight and Luxury Gold training opportunities for agents through weekly trainings, client presentations, product information sessions and ongoing website and e-learning strategies; escort familiarization trips for travel agents as necessary.  
  • Direct reports, District Sales Managers. Responsible for managing each direct report which includes organizing workloads, delegating responsibilities and supervision as needed. Administering advanced learning opportunities to direct report to enhance business skills.
  • Assist and support the management of the Sales Team T&E budget and co-op marketing funds in the most cost-effective way, being mindful of established policies.
  • Ensure team utilization of sales activities in Salesforce, record trainings, appointments, tasks, customer feedback and other sales activities in a timely manner. Utilize Salesforce reports to provide useful information to agents during every call and in regular e-mail communication  
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.


  • At least 5 years’ experience in management and/or travel related industry experience required. Prior sales team management skills a plus. Outstanding communication, and negotiation skills a must. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate individual. Ability to work under pressure and meet all deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SalesForce and internet required. Ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to speak publicly in front of small and large audience required.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with reasonable accommodation required.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time and to use a computer, mouse and keyboard required. Able to lift 20lbs with reasonable accommodation preferred.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the territory and abroad required.  Ability to guide a sales team in meeting their sales goals; must be able to successfully meet credit background check requirements; able to travel for business both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory and abroad required.  Ability to guide a sales team in meeting their sales goals; Ability to secure a corporate credit card in his/her name, or in the event that a corporate credit card is denied, ability to produce a personal credit card with an available line of credit of at least $5,000 for business expenses.
  • Able to produce a suitable automobile which will be used for business travel and all legally-mandated licenses and insurances. 
  • Presentation Skills- able to deliver effective presentations, engage as a credible trainer, and represent the company professionally at internal and external events.

  • Travel: Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required, and travel extensively throughout the territory. Overnight travel is required 50% of the month to ensure territory efficiency. Overseas travel required.
